Airbus, the world’s largest aerospace company, plans to hire 2,000 people in India, up from 1,500 currently.
According to the aircraft manufacturer, India is playing a critical role in the development of the world’s first zero-emission commercial aircraft, the ZEROe.
The Indian crew contributes to the aircraft’s development by assisting global tech hubs with simulations, cooling systems, and fuel cell safety assessments.
According to sources, chief technical officer Sabine Klauke said, “We are preparing the future for sustainable aviation, and tech and engineering are at the heart of it.”
“Three distinct combinations are being considered.
One is a 200-passenger turbofan with a range of 2,000 nautical miles that runs on hydrogen rather than jet fuel.
The second is a 100-passenger turboprop with a 1,000-nautical-mile range that will be powered by hydrogen combustion.
The third is a hybrid-wing body with numerous hydrogen storage and distribution choices.”
