LOS ANGELES- In April 2023, Starlux Airlines (JX), headquartered in Taiwan, successfully inaugurated its flights to the United States with the introduction of a route to Los Angeles (LAX). The airline is now gearing up to release tickets for its second United States route.
Starlux Airlines is planning to commence operations between Taipei (TPE) and San Francisco (SFO) starting in December 2023.
Starlux Taipei San Francisco Flights
The proposed flight schedule, as reported by AeroRoutes, is as follows:
- JX12 Taipei to San Francisco departing at 11:30 PM and arriving at 6:15 PM.
- JX11 San Francisco to Taipei departing at 11:40 PM and arriving at 5:30 AM (+2 days).
Initially, the flight will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and it will transition to daily flights starting on March 31, 2024.
This flight covers a distance of 6,469 miles and is scheduled for approximately 13 hours and 50 minutes westbound and 10 hours and 45 minutes eastbound.
While ticket sales for this route are not yet available, the flight schedule has been loaded, suggesting that bookings will become available in the near future. Additionally, Starlux Airlines plans to make Seattle its next destination in the United States.
Airbus A350 to Serve the Route
Starlux Airlines will employ Airbus A350-900 aircraft for all its United States routes. The airline has a total of 18 Airbus A350-900s on order and has already taken delivery of three of them. The A350-900s from Starlux feature 306 seats distributed across four cabins, including:
- Four first-class seats
- 26 business-class seats
- 36 premium economy seats
- 240 economy-class seats
Notably, Starlux is the first airline in Taiwan to offer a first-class cabin. The A350’s first-class suites come equipped with 60-inch doors, privacy partitions, 32-inch 4K screens with Bluetooth audio capabilities, zero-gravity seat settings, and personal wardrobes for luggage storage.
