ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) has updated its trans-Atlantic schedule with the addition of a third daily flight from Atlanta (ATL) to London (LHR), commencing on May 6.
This summer, Delta intends to operate flights to 27 European airports. While this number is slightly less than United’s (UA) 30 destinations, it surpasses American’s (AA) 17 and, notably, JetBlue’s (B6) 6.
Delta Atlanta-London Flight
The new schedule is as follows:
- DL36: Departure from ATL at 11:59 PM, Arrival at LHR at 1:30 PM (next day)
- DL37: Departure from LHR at 3:55 PM, Arrival at ATL at 8:25 PM
In addition to the increased frequency on the Atlanta to London route, Delta is set to enhance capacity on the New York (JFK) to Shannon (SNN) route. This upgrade involves a change from the Boeing 757-200 to the 767-300ER aircraft, set to take effect in the near future, reported Ishrion Aviation.
Delta Air Lines will operate around 72 European routes with flights from various locations, including New York JFK (26 routes), Atlanta (16), Boston (eight), Detroit (seven), Minneapolis (five), Salt Lake City (three), Seattle (three), Los Angeles (two), Cincinnati (one), and Portland (one).
DL’s Top Served European Routes
The European destinations that Delta serves most frequently are as follows. Notably, Amsterdam and Paris CDG hold high ranks, primarily due to Delta’s partnerships with SkyTeam’s KLM and Air France.
Rome also features prominently, albeit to a lesser extent, owing to its connection with ITA. The significance of Amsterdam to Delta is underscored by the fact that it represents almost one in five of the airline’s European flights.
