Alaska Airlines Announces 18 New Routes for Winter Travel

SEATTLE- Alaska Airlines (AS) today (July 10, 2024) announced that it will add 18 new routes to various domestic and sunny international destinations this winter.

From today onwards passengers can book tickets for this new winter route. The seasonal flights will start from December 3, 2024, onwards, with one being a year-round route.

Alaska Airlines 18 New Routes

Alaska Airlines will operate flights to some of the best ski and snow sports destinations, which include, Vail, Kelowna, and Reno.

Best Ski Destinations

The first-ever flight to Vail (Eagle County) will take from San Diego and Seattle.

Starting December 20, Alaska Airlines will operate a 3 weekly flight from San Diego and Seattle to Vail using Embraer E175 aircraft. The flights will be operated until March 16, 2025.

From December 18, 2024, the airline will operate daily flights between Los Angeles and Kelowna, British Columbia with E175. The flights will run until March 17, 2025.

Now to visit Lake Tahoe ski resorts you can take an Alaska Airlines San Diego–Reno flight which starts on Dec 19, 2024. The flight will be operated daily using a Boeing 737 and will be operated until April 21, 2025.

Adventurous Routes

AS is adding flights to some of the most adventurous and exploring destinations including Bozeman, Santa Ana, and Orlando.

Starting December 19, 2024, the airline will operate a 5x weekly flight between Boise and Bozeman with E175s until March 17, 2025.

Subsequently, it will also add year-round flights between Boise and Orange County (Santa Ana) from Dec 16, 2024. The flights will be operated daily with E175s.

Finally, the airline will operate two routes from Orlando, 4x weekly flights to Sacramento from Jan 6, 2025, until April 21, 2025, and 3x weekly flights to Boise until March 25, 2025. Both these routes will be served by Boeing 737s.

Sun-Soaked Destinations

During winter people love to fly to sunny and hot & humid destinations. This winter AS will operate flights to such places including Liberia, and Costa Rica.

The airline’s Seattle-Liberia service will become the 104th non-stop route from Seattle.

Starting December 21, 2024, AS will operate Seattle-Liberia 1x weekly flights until March 11, 2025. Subsequently, it will operate San Francisco-Liberia 1x weekly flights until March 10, 2025. Both routes will see Boeing 737 deployment.

Warm Leisure Routes

Well, we all want to travel for leisure, especially during the chilling winter at home. This winter Alaska Airlines will operate flights to Guadalajara, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta, all of these are in Mexico, the perfect place to keep yourself warm.

Starting Dec 3, 2024, the airline will operate daily flights between Fresno and Guadalajara using 737. The flights will run until Feb 12, 2025.

Furthermore, the 5th largest US carrier will expand from 3x to 5x weekly flights between Sacramento and Los Cabos using 737 until April 21, 2025.

The airline will also add New York (JFK)-Puerto Vallarta 4x weekly flights from Jan 8 to April 20, 2025, using 737.
