SINGAPORE- Scoot (TR) will expand its network with three new non-stop routes to Chiang Rai (CEI), Okinawa (OKA), and Tokyo Haneda (HND), alongside increased frequencies to several existing destinations.
The services will launch progressively between December 2025 and March 2026, offering travellers more regional and long-haul options.
Scoot Three New Winter Routes
The low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SQ) is also boosting capacity on routes such as Bangkok (BKK), Taipei (TPE), Tokyo Narita (NRT), and Sapporo (CTS) ahead of the peak year-end travel season. The additions reflect Scoot’s growing fleet capabilities, including the use of Embraer E190-E2 aircraft for thinner routes.

The three new routes cater to both leisure and practical travel demand.
Chiang Rai (CEI), a cultural hub in northern Thailand, will see five weekly flights from 1 January 2026 using the E190-E2, which is optimised for smaller markets.
Flight TR660 departs Singapore (SIN) at 16:40 and arrives at 18:50 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, returning as TR661 at 19:25 the same evenings. Promotional fares start from S$128.
Okinawa (OKA) flights will return to Scoot’s network from 15 December 2025 after the withdrawal of Jetstar Asia from the route.
Operating three times weekly on Airbus A320 aircraft, TR834 departs Singapore at 02:15 and lands in Okinawa at 08:20, while TR835 leaves at 09:20 for a 13:45 arrival back in Singapore. Launch fares begin at S$190.
Tokyo Haneda (HND), preferred for its proximity to central Tokyo, will be served daily from 1 March 2026 using Boeing 787 aircraft.
TR800 departs Singapore at 17:30 and lands at 01:00 the next day, with TR801 departing Haneda at 02:15 to arrive in Singapore at 08:30. Introductory fares are from S$190.
Additional Frequency Increases
Beyond the new routes, Scoot will adjust several services to increase capacity:
- Bangkok (BKK): 35 to 39 weekly flights from August 2025
- Tokyo Narita (NRT via TPE): 12 to 14 weekly flights from October 2025
- Taipei (TPE): 23 to 25 weekly from October 2025, then 28 weekly from December 2025
- Ipoh (IPH): 17 to 21 weekly from November 2025
- Chiang Mai (CNX): 7 to 14 weekly by December 2025
- Sapporo (CTS via TPE): 4 to 7 weekly from December 2025
- Jeju (CJU): 5 to 7 weekly from January 2026
- Vienna (VIE): 3 to 4 weekly from March 2026
Fleet Strategy and Market Fit
The introduction of the E190-E2 has enabled Scoot to target secondary cities such as Chiang Rai and Padang, which may not sustain larger aircraft economically.
This strategy allows the airline to diversify its network without compromising load factors, particularly in Southeast Asia, where demand is spread across multiple regional hubs.
The reinstatement of Okinawa is also significant, as it restores a leisure link popular with Singapore travellers while filling a market gap left by another carrier.
The Haneda launch complements Scoot’s existing Narita flights, offering passengers more choice based on arrival airport preference.

KrisFlyer Redemption on Scoot
KrisFlyer miles can be redeemed for Scoot flights at a fixed rate of 1,000 miles for S$10, slightly improved from the earlier 1,050 miles for S$10 rate.
However, this remains lower in value compared to using miles for award flights on Singapore Airlines or partner carriers, where returns can exceed 2 cents per mile.
While Scoot flights are not traditionally considered premium redemptions, the airline is expected to introduce fixed-price awards starting from 1,500 miles, which could be attractive during peak fare periods. Add-ons such as baggage and seat selection will still require separate payment, Mile Lion reported.
