LOT Polish Airlines to Restart Flights to Most Visited City in the World After 26 Year

WARSAW— LOT Polish Airlines (LO) has launched its new nonstop service between Warsaw (WAW) and Bangkok (BKK), opening a direct link between Poland and Thailand from October 7, 2026.

The inaugural flight marks the carrier’s return to scheduled service on the route and gives travelers a direct alternative to connecting itineraries through other European or Middle Eastern hubs.

The year-round route is already available for booking, while LOT has structured the service around two schedules during its initial launch period.

The schedule changes from October 26, when LOT increases the Warsaw-Bangkok service to five weekly departures.

LOT Polish’s Boeing 787 Operations

LOT will deploy Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the long-haul route, with the Warsaw-Bangkok sector taking approximately 10 hours and 20 minutes.

The return journey is scheduled to take about 11 hours and 55 minutes because of the different operating conditions on the westbound sector.

The aircraft assignment can vary between Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft, according to published schedules.

Thailand’s tourism authority has previously listed a 252-seat configuration for the route, although the published schedule shows that LOT may also use the larger 787-9 on selected services.

Direct Thailand Access Offered by LOT Polish

The new service strengthens LOT’s long-haul network while giving passengers from Poland and surrounding Central European markets a nonstop option to Bangkok.

Travelers can therefore avoid an intermediate stop when flying between the two capitals, reducing the complexity of journeys that previously relied on connecting hubs.

The launch also has broader significance for Thailand’s European tourism market.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has described Poland as a growing European source market and worked with LOT and travel-industry partners ahead of the launch to build demand for the new connection.

With tickets already available through LOT’s sales channels, passengers can book the initial three-weekly schedule or select from five weekly departures once the winter timetable begins on October 26.

The expansion gives travelers greater flexibility as the year-round Warsaw-Bangkok service moves into its first full winter season.
