DUBAI- Emirates (EK) will introduce its Airbus A350 on the Dubai to Nairobi route from 25 October 2026, operating flights EK717 and EK718. The aircraft will bring Emirates’ latest cabin design, upgraded technology, and enhanced connectivity to Kenya.
Nairobi, Kenya (NBO) will become the first destination in Kenya to receive Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin. The A350 will operate alongside Emirates’ expanded schedule of 21 weekly flights between Dubai and Nairobi.
Emirates A350 to Introduce Premium Economy on Nairobi Route
Emirates will deploy its Airbus A350 on flights between Dubai and Nairobi from 25 October 2026. The aircraft will operate flight EK717 from Dubai to Nairobi and EK718 on the return route, giving passengers access to Emirates’ newest widebody aircraft and updated onboard experience.
The A350 will accommodate 298 passengers across three cabins: Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class. Emirates has designed the aircraft around spacious cabins, improved comfort, modern technology and expanded entertainment options.
The aircraft’s arrival also introduces Emirates Premium Economy to the Kenyan market for the first time. The cabin adds a higher-comfort seating option between Economy and Business Class.
Emirates A350 Cabin Features
The Airbus A350 features a bright cabin design with updated materials, lighter finishes and technology-focused passenger amenities. Each cabin provides a distinct travel experience based on seating, space and onboard services.
Premium Economy
Emirates Premium Economy will make its Kenya debut on the Dubai-Nairobi route. The cabin features leather reclining seats with generous seat pitch, adjustable headrests and additional legroom.
Passengers will have access to in-seat charging points, a wood-finished side cocktail table and a 13.3-inch entertainment screen. Emirates will also provide a pillow and blanket, while complimentary amenity kits will be available on select flights, including the Dubai-Nairobi service.
The cabin includes Chandon Vintage Brut 2017, a sparkling wine offered as part of Emirates’ Premium Economy service.
Business Class
The A350 Business Class cabin uses a 1-2-1 seating configuration, giving every passenger direct access to the aisle. The fully lie-flat seats use soft cream leather and include a personal minibar and wireless charging.
A dedicated snack display area at the rear of the cabin allows passengers to access refreshments during the flight.
Economy Class
The A350 Economy Class cabin uses a new colour scheme featuring sky blue, bronze and cream, combined with lighter-toned wood finishes.
Each seat includes Emirates’ upgraded ice inflight entertainment system on a 13.3-inch 4K adjustable touchscreen. Leather headrests and generous seat pitch provide additional support and legroom.
More Dubai-Nairobi Flight Options
The A350 deployment follows Emirates’ expansion of its Nairobi schedule. The airline introduced a third daily flight between Dubai and Nairobi in July, increasing the route to 21 flights per week.
The additional frequency gives passengers more scheduling flexibility and supports connections through Dubai to destinations across Europe and the United States.
Emirates Expands Customer Services in Kenya
Nairobi is also home to Africa’s first Emirates World store, which opened in 2024. The facility provides customers with a dedicated environment to explore Emirates products and receive personalised service.
Emirates has also expanded payment flexibility in Kenya through a partnership with Cellulant. The split-payment option allows customers to combine multiple payment methods and pay for airfares through 24-hour instalments.
Booking and Fare Flexibility
Passengers can book Emirates flights through the airline’s website, the Emirates App, travel agents and the Emirates World Store in Nairobi.
For tickets booked after 10 August 2026, Emirates states that customers receive unlimited date changes for travel to Dubai and one complimentary date change for travel to other destinations. The airline has also reduced refund fees across its cabins and fare types, subject to the applicable fare conditions.
What the A350 Means for Nairobi Passengers
The Emirates A350 will add a new aircraft type and Premium Economy option to the Dubai-Nairobi route. Combined with 21 weekly flights, the service gives passengers additional cabin choice, updated onboard facilities and greater scheduling flexibility.
The deployment also strengthens Emirates’ wider customer offering in Kenya through expanded flight frequencies, the Emirates World store and new payment options.
