Singapore Airlines Cancels Flights to Busiest International Airport in the World

SINGAPORE- Singapore Airlines (SQ) has cancelled its Dubai services until Dec 1, 2026, citing the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East. The affected flights are SQ494 between Singapore (SIN) and Dubai (DXB), and SQ495 on the return route.

Scoot (TR) has also extended cancellations on its Jeddah route until Dec 2, 2026. The affected flights are TR796 between Singapore (SIN) and Jeddah (JED), and TR797 on the return route, with eligible customers able to request full refunds.

Singapore Airlines Extends Dubai Flight Cancellations

Singapore Airlines has cancelled flights SQ494 and SQ495 between Singapore and Dubai until Dec 1, 2026. The airline said the decision is linked to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and noted that conditions remain fluid.

SQ494 operates from Singapore to Dubai, while SQ495 operates from Dubai to Singapore. Both services are affected by the latest cancellation extension.

Singapore Airlines has advised passengers to check their flight status regularly because other services could also be affected if the regional situation changes. The airline’s advisory states that customers affected by the cancellations can request a full refund for the unused portion of their tickets.

Scoot Cancels Jeddah Flights Through December

Scoot has separately cancelled flights TR796 and TR797 between Singapore and Jeddah until Dec 2, 2026.

TR796 operates from Singapore to Jeddah, while TR797 operates from Jeddah to Singapore. Scoot’s latest advisory was updated on Sept 30, 2026, and confirms the extended cancellation period.

Customers affected by the cancellations can request a full refund if they decide not to continue with their travel. Passengers who booked directly with Scoot can contact the airline for assistance, while customers who booked through travel agents or partner airlines should contact the relevant booking provider.

What Affected Passengers Should Know

Passengers booked on the affected Singapore Airlines services should check their booking and flight status before travelling. Singapore Airlines has also advised customers to keep their contact details updated through its booking management system so they can receive operational notifications.

Scoot has issued similar guidance to affected customers and recommends keeping contact details current through its Manage My Booking service or subscribing to flight-status notifications.

The refund provisions apply to the unused portion of eligible Singapore Airlines tickets and to affected Scoot customers who choose not to continue their travel. Booking conditions and the method of purchase can affect how customers should process their refund requests.
